On 9 June, Naftna Industrija Srbije officially implemented the agreement on the takeover of Petrohemija, in accordance with the Strategic Partnership Agreement. Following a capital increase in the amount of EUR 150 million, the ownership share of NIS in Petrohemija increased from 20.9% to 90%, while the remaining 10% remained with the Republic of Serbia.

Under the signed agreement, the funds secured through the capital increase will be directed towards an investment cycle that includes the construction of a new polypropylene production plant with a minimum capacity of 140,000 tonnes per year. The planned implementation period for this project is six years.

The strategy for the further development of HIPP will focus on the modernisation of key production capacities and the construction of new plants, the improvement of energy and overall business efficiency, as well as the implementation of projects in the field of environmental protection.
