This is the third overhaul since June 2023, i.e. since HIP-Petrohemija became part of the NIS Group, during which Petrohemija has carried out projects to enhance reliability and increase energy efficiency.

In the upcoming period, HIP-Petrohemija will continue to carry out additional overhauls and activities aimed at modernising and improving the operational reliability of its factories.

During this overhaul, approximately 1,700 activities were performed, including the reconstruction of key equipment at the Ethylene Factory, the most significant of which was the overhaul of the water steam boilers, as well as improvements in energy efficiency. The total value of the works amounted to around RSD 550 million, and the overhaul lasted 45 days.

All activities during the production shutdown at HIP-Petrohemija were fully aligned with the Company’s applicable safety procedures, ensuring the safety and health of employees, as well as protection of the working and natural environment.

Today, 1 April, activities are being carried out to start production at the Petrohemija factories. Start-up operations at the Ethylene Factory may be accompanied by stronger flare flames, which are part of the normal technological process during start-up and do not affect the environment. Such occurrences may be expected in the coming days.
