HIP-Petrohemija successfully restarted its production after the one-month shutdown during which time the investment programs were completed as well as the turnaround maintenance on the process equipment and safety systems. The Ethylene plant was restarted on Friday, 23th April 2021, and during the weekend High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Law Density Polyethylene (LDPE) plants restarted the production of goods intended for both foreign and local markets.
Presently the operation processes in all HIP-Petrohemija’s plants are steady and in accordance with the production plans. Restarting the production was carried out in compliance with the prescribed safety measures, company’s procedures, and quality standards referring to living and working environment.
“The most significant investment activities which took place during this one-month shutdown were SCADA system implementation at the Power Supply Plant and general overhaul of the extruder in the LDPE plant. These projects are extremely important to HIP-Petrohjemija, because they are directed towards safety increase and production improvement. In addition the overhaul maintenance works were done on the process equipment and safety systems in order to provide undisturbed and safe operation of the plants in the upcoming time says Miša Bulajić, Executive Director, Function of Production and Technical Support in HIP Petrohemija.
The investment and turnaround maintenance activities were carried out under extraordinary circumstances due to the covid pandemic, however all the government measures were followed and the safety measures in the company were kept at high level, thanks to all HIP-Petrohemija’s employees and to contractors engaged as well.
