HIP Petrohemija has had a certified occupational health and safety management system since 2011 in accordance with the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard in 2022. OHSAS 18001:2007 was replaced by the international standard ISO 450001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&S). The objective of the management system is to achieve the company’s vision, policy and objectives, development strategy, monitoring of domestic and European regulations, application and promotion of prevention in the field of health and safety, increasing the satisfaction of all interested parties, as well as winning the leading place of HIP Petrohemija in the market as a socially responsible company.

We are developing the Occupational Safety and Health policy based on the principles of applying world standards in this field, in order to promote and maintain the physical, mental and social well-being of engaged workers and everyone present in the organization.
Humans are the greatest value of HIP Petrochemistry. The goal of our company is to continuously improve worker health and safety. The nature of business in the chemical industry requires a high degree of health and safety at work and is one of the priorities and prerequisites for the company’s success. The result is a high motivation of workers and a reduction in costs due to injuries, sick leave or chronic diseases of employees.
Special attention is paid to the timely education and training of workers for safe work, in order to minimize the risks of daily operations.

The plan and program of health and safety measures defined tasks related to the organization and improvement of work processes, as well as the improvement of work safety conditions. Through continuous analysis and management of OHS risks in our processes, we achieve a reduction of risks for employees and all present persons who participate in work processes.
In order to achieve the highest possible efficiency and quality protection of employees at work, the Safety and Health Committee was formed within HIP-Petrohemija.
Continuous safety improvement and regular monitoring of the health of its employees is achieved, among other things, through systematic inspections and permanent health control of workers working in jobs with special working conditions.
The ultimate goal is to ensure the effectiveness of all business processes with the help of a healthy and satisfied employee.
